Decriminalisation
We work for decriminalisation because it’s in the best interests of drug users, their families and society as a whole.
There is no evidence to support that criminalisation has a preventive effect; on the contrary, users are harmed by the strain and stigma that comes with being criminalised.
We want a substance abuse reform that leads to problematic substance use being seen as a health problem, not a criminal law problem. Punishment is not a preventive measure. Decriminalisation prevents stigmatisation.
